Data Quality & AI Researcher

digna is looking for a highly analytical Data Quality & AI Researcher to help advance the scientific foundations of our Data Quality & Data Observability platform.
digna uses statistical and AI-driven approaches to understand data behaviour, detect anomalies and identify deviations in enterprise data. We are looking for someone with a PhD-level background in Mathematics, Statistics or a closely related quantitative field who is excited about applying rigorous methods to real-world data problems.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Research & Methodology — Develop new approaches to data quality measurement, anomaly detection, statistical profiling and data behaviour analysis.
Data Quality & Observability — Explore their mathematical foundations and translate them into practical enterprise methods.
AI & Statistical Methods — Investigate how machine learning, statistical modelling and AI can improve automated assessment and anomaly detection.
Research Prototypes — Turn ideas into prototypes and evaluate their practical application with our engineering team.
Scientific Content — Contribute to publications, white papers, conference presentations and research-oriented content.
Product Innovation — Work with our founders and product team to identify opportunities for differentiated capabilities.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
A mathematician or statistician who wants to solve real-world data problems.
You should have a PhD or equivalent research experience in Mathematics, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Data Science or a closely related discipline; strong foundations in statistics, probability and modelling; quantitative research experience; programming experience—preferably Python—and a curious, independent mindset. Experience with time series, anomaly detection, statistical process control, machine learning or data quality is a strong advantage. You don’t need to be a Data Quality expert when you start, but you should be excited about discovering how mathematics and statistics can make enterprise data more reliable.

This Vienna-based position is mostly remote and works closely with our product and engineering team.
